Windows XP Perks

What Windows platform are you currently using? Windows XP Home Edition or simply the XP line remains one of the best creations that Microsoft has created. Windows 95/98 some decades ago by comparison could not compete with the efficacy that XP offers.  Even if you compare it with Windows 2000, Windows XP is still better and is a better transition to Windows 7. So what exactly are the best aspects of XP?

The first would probably be the WLAN features. It was able to handle some 802.11b of wireless LAN connections. WLANs at one point involved a set of patchwork, equipment, software and certain intricate mechanisms.  Before XP, this may often have led to difficulties in starting it up or administering WLAN’s. Or certain security lapses that may endanger your networks. Our beloved OS, however is very efficient with WLAN and the configurations and security make it much easier to move around between different WLANs.

Second is System restore. This is a feature that further OS’s have carried on but Windows XP has been known for. The system restore allows you to regress your OS to an earlier status quo. Using it allows you to reverse certain things you have done. The first time people started using this, they were literally surprised a couple of years ago when it worked very smoothly. This is especially useful for SME owners who don’t have time to just test-drive new apps. Windows XP Pro, however is much more stable than the Home edition. Device Driver Rollback allows you to go back to a previous version of a device driver – especially if you are having issues with a driver that is newly installed.

Remote Desktop has been a very prominent feature back when Windows XP was new that allows XP Pro to be integrated from another Windows computer. This is helpful if you intend to connect your office computer to your home PC so that you can use the same apps and systems. Of course in order to accomplish this, people have connected their corporate LAN using dial-up or VPN back in the day.  Remote Desktop is a built-in aspect of remote aspect software but it does not have any of the advanced features of those applications. But Remote Desktop has always been a fast and efficient tool.

For many years Windows XP Home Edition and its sister editions have proven to be a very compact and useful OS for both business and home computing. Order one today if XP can still serve you for your essential computer needs! What matters is not the OS – but the productivity it can offer you.
